Labrador Petro-Management Pty Ltd (LPM) was established in Perth, Western Australia in 1987 as Australia’s first drilling project management company. LPM is owned and operated by Drilling and Completions professionals with a vast array of local, national and international experience – working for International super-majors through to junior exploration companies.

Chris Wilson
Managing Director

Chris started in the oil and gas industry 32 years ago working initially in Operations and Wellsite Geology and transitioned from Geology to Drilling whilst with Chevron in PNG.  He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Engineering Science in Petroleum Engineering.

 

Chris joined Labrador Petro Management 23 years ago where he consulted for a variety of oil companies in roles from Drilling Engineer, Offshore Drilling Supervisor to Drilling Superintendent. In 2010 Chris was involved in the Montara blowout and recovery operations. Chris is currently Well Construction Manager at Cooper Energy.

Austen Wilson
Principal Engineer

Austen joined LPM in 2019 as the Principal Engineer. His experience of land and offshore rigs, along with various office roles, underpin his firm understanding of complex rig operations, corporate standards, procedures and assurance processes. 

 

Prior to joining LPM, Austin worked at Tullow Oil, holding office-based roles in operations, planning, design, corporate  engineering and was the acting Chief Well Engineer prior to leaving to join LPM.

Neil Thompson
Technical Services Manager

Neil joined the LPM team in mid 2017 and has been an integral part of our setup ever since.  He is an oilfield professional with over 18 years of experience in sales and technical roles, in a variety of locations around the world Originally obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Applied Geology from Staffordshire University, Neil completed his Masters in Drilling and Well Engineering from Robert Gordon University in 2019.

 

Neil worked for National Oilwell Varco (NOV) for over 11 years,  utilising a broad-based technical knowledge, he became the focal point with various major clients in Australia for all NOV divisions. In addition, Neil provided drilling optimisation and operational support to local and international operations.
